After the famous Magnolia Bakery's Cupcakes, another place in the West Village is becoming famous for its desserts... in particular, for its tiramisù. This is "Dolce Vizio", a place entirely dedicated to this sweet symbol of the Italian tradition. The owners are two guys who just moved from Bergamo, my city, in the Big Apple. Nadia and Alessandro have developed this decision last year in front of a tiramisù in a restaurant in Rome. When Alessandro obtained the admission to the MBA master at the Columbia University, they both decided to open a bar in NY entirerly dedicated to this dessert, not only in its classic version, but experimenting with endless combinations. The main flavors are in fact six and include fruit, liquor, chocolate, coffee ... But it is also possible to "build" your own tiramisù: choosing between different ingredients everyone can experiment and choose the preferred combination. Plus, you can accompany the dessert with a true italian espresso (finally a good one in NY!).

Dolce Vizio si trova in Christopher Street al 131 (all'angolo con Hudson), New York.

Ecco alcune foto:
Here are some pics:

Me and Nadia, the owner of the shop.

Nadia: "Moving here was not easy. I left my job in Italy and my family was worried at the beginning... Obtaining all the permissions and approvals required a lot of time, as well as the choice of the place. We work a lot and the shifts are quite heavy, but it is a choice that I would do another time, I'm incredibly happy!"

Bigio: "This place has sparked much interest in the local press but also in the international one. How do you explain that?"
Nadia: "I'm surprised about all this attention, but Italian food is the best in the world and that makes me proud and honoured; my mother now is collecting items about us and attaching them on the fridge!"

Bigio: "I also discover the place thanks to an article on -L'Eco di Bergamo- and some Internet sites... That's why I decided to come here."
Nadia: "Well, today you're the fifth person from Bergamo who comes to visit us
! xD"

Bigio: The fifth person from Bergamo???

I sei gusti:
The six Flavours:

Tutti i tipi di tiramisù. Dall'alto: Classico, Limoncello, Mango, Lampone, Espresso e Arancia (con liquore), e Nutella.
All the types of Tiramisù. From the top: Classic, Limoncello, Mango, Raspberry, Orange Espresso (with Borghetti liqueur) and Nutella.

Noi abbiamo deciso di portarcene a casa quattro! xD
We decided to bring home four different flavours... xD

One of the most interesting things is the possibility to order takeaway Tiramisu ... An opportunity that we could not miss!

Buon appetito! ;D
